Why 'slow'?

Because 'slow' is the only way to progress in any natural process.

We may be able to speed up everything around us from podcasts to food delivery to our phones. But natural processes, especially related to the human body, don’t work that way. As a system, the human body prefers to change at a slow and steady rate. When rushed, it resists. When pushed, it pushes back. And this is why you struggle to lose weight and keep it off. Not because you are not doing enough. But because you are doing too much, too fast.

When you try to lose weight quickly by eating too less, your body lowers your metabolic rate and slows you down.
When you try to transform by working out too much, it struggles to recover, kills consistency and slows you down.
When you try to get lean fast by cutting out carbs and desserts, your body makes you crave them and slows you down.
Clearly, every time you push or rush, your body slows you down.

Because the slow approach is the preferred approach for your body. And that is our preferred approach too. Because slow is safe. Slow is sensible. And, most of all, slow is sustainable.

About The Method

Because slow is sustainable. Your body needs time to change and adapt, and so it is important to work with your body and help it lose weight at an optimal rate without pushing it too much. Slow weight loss is also easier on your system giving it enough space to adapt to the changes that you will make in your routine through SBM.

Knowledge, kindness and consistency. Unlike most weight loss programme where the goal is to somehow lose weight, at SBM, our goal is to teach you how to lose weight, how to be kind to yourself during the various ups and down in your journey and how to be consistent with your efforts irrespective of what life throws at you. Being a part of SBM will not only help you lose weight but also change your mindset about weight loss and management.

Community – You will also be a part of a huge community of people who are just like you. This community, with people just like you, will be one of your support pillars throughout your journey.

Motivation – This a part of everything we do at SBM and so you can reach out to your coaches or fellow students whenever you feel demotivated.
Knowledge – Every week you will learn about weight loss and management through webinars or Q&A sessions or lessons.
Psychologist support – If and when you need help with your mental health to keep putting in the effort, an SBM psychologist will be available to listen, support and assist you.
Follow along workouts – Simple body weight based strength training workouts are provided as a part of the SBM to help you get stronger and burn calories necessary to enable weight loss. 

Yes, you will be provided with a strategic meal plan, but we don’t stop with that. We will also teach you different approaches to implement the meal plan so you can stay in control irrespective of the situation – travel, sickness or lack of time.
